STINT-NRF Final Workshop

The three year Swedish–South African research project entitled ‘Multimodal Texts and Pedagogies’ led by Anders Björkvall and Arlene Archer wrapped up with a workshop from 11-13 March 2019, in Mont Fleur, Cape Town. Financed by The Swedish Foundation for International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education (STINT) and the South African National Research Foundation (NRF), the final workshop focused on summarizing some of the identified challenges and opportunities posed by changing multimodal texts across disciplines, modes and media in Higher Education. This included looking at academic discourse, disciplinary discourses, digital domains, assessment practices, multimodal artefacts used in teaching and learning, and multimodal events (situated social practices of individuals and groups) in Higher Education in Sweden and South Africa.
