Zach Simpson

Zach Simpson is a lecturer and researcher in Engineering Education at the University of Johannesburg. He holds a PhD in Education from the University of Cape Town. His research examines how engineering study plays out in myriad symbolic forms of meaning-making, including information graphics, drawing, mathematical notation, as well as language. His research interests and work align with the notions of social semiotics, multimodality, communities of practice, academic literacies, higher education studies and engineering education.
